Amman: The Faculty of Allied Medical Sciences at Middle East University provided its academic staff with the opportunity to participate in a scientific event in collaboration with the Jordanian Association of Therapeutic Dietitians.
The event, entitled ‘Talking to the World,’ The event, entitled ‘Diabetes Breaks Barriers and Bridges Gaps,’ was organised in collaboration with the Jordanian Association of Therapeutic Dietitians with the objective of disseminating knowledge regarding the most recent advances in the field of diabetes and its treatment.
The event comprised detailed scientific lectures held at the association’s headquarters in the Abdoun area. Dr. Hamza Awad, a faculty member at the Department of Physiotherapy, presented a lecture entitled ‘Digital Health and Diabetes Prevention.’ In his lecture, entitled ‘Lessons Learnt from Artificial Intelligence and Digital Health,’ he discussed the role of modern technologies in enhancing strategies for the prevention of diabetes and the management of its chronic conditions.
Dr. Ahmed Abdullah, a faculty member at the Department of Medical Analysis and Laboratory Sciences, presented a lecture entitled ‘Current Technology for Measuring Blood Sugar.’ In his lecture, entitled ‘Do we still need finger pricks?’, Dr. Abdullah reviewed the latest technologies for measuring glucose levels, highlighting innovations that replace traditional methods and contribute to improving the patient experience.
The scientific content of the lectures was well received by the attendees, who commended the value of the topics presented and their impact on enhancing scientific understanding of diabetes. Furthermore, the esteemed role of Middle East University in supporting the event was commended.
