Amman: The elections for the Student Parliament Council at Middle East University were set to begin on Wednesday, December 11, 2024, where students voted for their representatives to reach the student parliament.
The elections reflect the royal vision, which emphasises the need to support and empower youth to lead the next stage, as well as enhance their role in shaping their future, and consolidate the values of participation and social responsibility.
This step is an affirmation of the university’s belief in the importance of investing in students’ energies and enabling them to be true partners in decision-making. The university has formed an independent body for the student parliament elections, which includes a group of specialists to supervise and manage the electoral process, in addition to allocating dedicated places for election campaigning in a civilised and distinctive manner. The voting process began on Wednesday from 9am to 4pm, after which the counting process began, and the results were announced.
These elections represent a qualitative leap in the educational process, as they provide students with the opportunity to interact with the concepts of democracy and governance, and train them to exercise rights and responsibilities practically, whether through debates and election campaigns that witnessed promising ideas and programmes, or through the transparent competitive atmosphere that stimulated the spirit of initiative and creativity.
Middle East University consolidates its position as an institute of innovation and leadership, and paves the way for its students to be active in their society and capable of positive change, as it has dedicated an office for party activities in the Deanship of Student Affairs, in order to enhance the active participation of its students.
