Amman: Middle East University organised an educational training course for the students enrolled at the university’s Faculty of Media.
The course, which was entitled ‘Artificial Intelligence in Journalism and Media,’ was designed to explore the potential of artificial intelligence in the fields of journalism and media, delivered by Mr. Hussam Hourani, an expert in the field of artificial intelligence at Orange, who also serves as the Director of Education and Digital Centres at the university.
The course focused on the potential of AI to enhance the quality of media work through multiple applications, including big data analysis, text summarisation, and improved simultaneous translation.
The course also showcased practical examples of using AI to monitor audience interactions, prioritise topics, and design innovative editorial strategies that reflect current developments.
The course, in conclusion, culminated in a call to action, inviting participants to adopt a proactive approach to learning and developing their skills in AI applications. This is with a view to positioning them at the vanguard of the workforce, capable of facing future challenges and formulating innovative solutions that enhance the role of media in building knowledge societies.
