Amman: The Faculty of Media at Middle East University recently conducted a specialised workshop on the Cybercrime Law as part of its commitment to equipping students with the requisite legal expertise to navigate the evolving landscape of digital media.
The workshop was led by Mohammed Qutaishat, a legal expert and representative of the Centre for the Protection and Freedom of Journalists (CPFJ). During the workshop, Qutaishat addressed the core themes of the cybercrime law, encompassing the protection of privacy, mechanisms to combat digital crimes, and the assurance of freedom of expression within the legal framework. Additionally, he emphasised the legal challenges confronting media professionals in the digital age, offering practical examples and illustrative case studies to support his insights.
The workshop format included dialogue sessions and in-depth discussions, providing students with the opportunity to engage directly with a leading legal expert and thereby enhancing their understanding of the law and its applications.
